Have you ever seen the classy looking man near the general shop? He stands out from the rest of the town's people. His name is Bryce, the man in charge of the bank. Contrary to the other men in this town who are always dirty and sweaty, Bryce was once the branch manager in Emain Macha but relocated here with Ibbie due to some business problems. His eyes carry a hint of sorrow…perhaps because of his sick daughter, or his deceased wife, or even because of his current situation at this countryside. But one thing for sure is that people trust him for his thorough and meticulous work. All he has is one small warehouse, yet he does all his bank work faithfully there.
Knowing his difficult situation, it might make you hesitant to trust his service; however, you don't need to worry. Bryce knows how to separate his personal life from his work life.
Those somewhat familiar with Bangor have undoubtedly noted the conspicuous absence of a church. The old Bangor church burned down in a great fire and has yet to be replaced. Comgan was appointed to be the priest of Bangor, but his youth have made residents hesitant to follow a spiritual leader who many feel has not lived long enough to gain extensive spiritual wisdom.
Those close to Comgan know that he has impacted this region through his deep sincere faith that stems from his childhood. He voluntarily came to Comgan, a place where no one else wanted to go, and his admirable will to serve knows no bounds.
Comgan's burden is to build a church in Bangor. Not known as a spiritual community, Comgan faces an uphill battle. Everybody seems to be secretly watching if Comgan can complete his goal...even the far-off Vatican in Emain Macha.
Have you ever met one of those people who only have one goal since childhood that they pursue without ever doubting or wavering? Edern, the blacksmith of Bangor, is such a person.
Edern was fascinated by metals ever since he was a small child and decided to become a blacksmith. Because he's handled metals for so long, his skills of creating and repairing metals are masterful. His craft is known far and wide, as people will travel great distances places to request his services. They say that he's taught numerous blacksmiths his skills throughout the Eilich kingdom. However, he is a very proud and confident man and you must be mindful of that when you talk to him. If you happen to get caught not paying attention or disrespect him in any other way while he's talking, you'll be in big trouble.
With a dark complexion and silky golden hair, this charismatic girl is Elen, the grand daughter of Edern. You can see her helping out her grand father at the blacksmith daily. Sometimes, the large hammer looks a bit overwhelming for her petite physique, but her skills are beyond her age and improving with each passing day.
Just like other girls her age, she is very curious about many things, but her passion in metals is her top priority just like her grandfather. Because of that, she's more interested in talking about metals rather than things like delicious food or fancy accessories.
If you happen to meet this fascinating girl, try telling her this…that she looks the most beautiful when she's working at the blacksmith.
Bangor is known for its iron ore deposits. They say that the biggest convenience store is the general shop…but the general shop is nothing more than a shabby little store. Items are rare and expensive, and they only carry things people don't need. To make things worse, there is an old man who walks around the store, always miserable and mumbling complaints. The last thing you want to do is complain about the general shop to him…because he is the owner!
Gilmore has had the general shop in Bangor for quite some time now. You wouldn't believe how much he complains about every little thing. He goes as far as expressing his complaints directly to customers who come in the shop. Your conversations with him might not be so pleasant. Everyone in town knows about his difficult personality and moodiness, and will show an adverse reaction if you mention his name.
Except one person…Sion
For some odd reasons, Gilmore loosens up with him.
Upon entering Bangor, you might notice a little girl leaning against the wall near the entrance. This fragile looking girl is Ibbie, the only daughter of Bryce, the banker. After losing her mother when she was very young, she moved here with her father from Emain Macha. Her weak health causes fits of coughing and occasional bouts of dizziness, and because she's still a child doesn't always behave properly. But in Sion's eyes, she's perfect.
Ibbie pretends to be oblivious to Sion's feelings, but don't mistake her as a bratty girl playing games! She's just learned about the heartache of loving someone and depending on them
For those who sweat and toil all day mining ore deposits, there's only one thing they look forward to after work…the bar. This place is popular not only for its cold refreshing beer but also because of its very attractive owner, Jenifer. Those from out of town are sometimes perplexed by the fact that she wears a healer's outfit, but she'll tell you that she heals people's pain through alcohol…and you're left with nothing to say. With her confident beauty and entrancing voice, Jenifer says she is originally from the port city down south. She says she decided one day to come to Bangor and open a bar. Some people criticize her for being a single women working at a bar, but she seems to care less about what the think.
She learned a long time ago…that men are not worth her time, let alone her feelings.
No matter how tough Jenifer is, she can't operate the bar without any help. Jenifer knows that as well, or else she wouldn't have hired Riocard.
A teenage boy with a carefree smile, Riocard helps Jenifer around the bar. Some people don't think too fondly that a boy, no older than late teens, is working at a bar, but Riocard seems unbothered. He's not interested in drinking anyway. He likes talking with the people. Sometimes he gets yelled at by Jenifer because he'll just sit there and listen to the people's adventures. People who meet Riocard for the first time think of him as a clueless simpleton, but don't underestimate him. Though he is unusually carefree and relaxed for his age, he is very detailed and thorough.
Sometimes Riocard will stare up in the sky with a blank stare. If you ever see him doing that, ask him what he's starting out…or what he's thinking about.
On the hillside of Gairech lies an enormous dragon statue that seems have been constructed many years ago. Excavating the site without damaging the statue is extremely difficult, and the one directing the project is a man named Seumas, Bangor's expert miner. He is also Sion's father and often says he wants to go see his son. Some might be wondering how good Seumas is, to be undertaking such a massive project himself, but it wasn't always like that. He originally started the project with Kobolds. Seumas is one of the rare people who is able to converse with Kobolds. They are experienced excavators, so Seumas was hired to lead them. However, the Kobolds living inside Barri dungeon somehow convinced the ones working with him to all ran away, leaving Seumas alone…
Still, with a constant smile and a good attitude, Seumas is still faithfully excavating the dragon till this day…it's no wonder Sion is such a cheerful boy.
Yes, it was fate. That Sion, the little miner boy, fell in love with Ibbie, the frail girl, the moment she arrived at this town. His days of catching grasshoppers and running around were over, and he began spending time with her. Every time he catches a rare glimpse of her smile, his whole world turns upside down.
However, Sion didn't have enough money to buy Ibbie all the things she liked. So he cut down his playing time and began working in front of the watermill. Grumpy Gilmore doesn't understand, but all Sion thinks about is seeing Ibbie's smile one more time.
If you go near the giant watermill next to the mine's entrance, you'll see this carefree boy Sion. Sometimes his childish love for Ibbie might make him seem a little foolish, but what can you do? Even one-sided love knows no age limits.
